Your Videos Are Stolen and Reposted on Youtube? How to Take Them Down?
Many people are looking for a quick way to make money online and choose to steal content from others. I’ve dealt with a lot of stolen blog posts, and now they even target my Youtube videos. Ironically, some of the re-posted videos are ranked higher and get more views than the original ones, that means they could have earned a decent revenue from the videos.
We spent a lot of time to create, edit and upload our videos to Youtube, so I was so upset when some thieves stole my content within minutes. If you have the same issue, here is how to take down those videos.
Open the copyright infringement form in your web browser. Choose the issue Copyright infringement (Someone copied my creation). In the copyright infringement – Who is affected section, you can choose I am or your company. Fill in the ULR of infringing video and your original video, choose the reason “My Youtube video was reuploaded by another user“.
Next, fill in your contact info. If you are the person who is affected, you can type in Owner in the Authority to make this complaint textbox. If it is your company, you will see the Your Title or Job Position (What is your authority to make this complaint?) textbox, just type in your job.
Click on Submit Complaint, you will receive a confirmation email from Youtube in a few minutes.
They often gave me response in a few hours and if your submission is correct, you will receive the message: “Thank you very much for your notification. The content has been removed.”
That’s it. The stolen video is taken down now.
